10 Shocking Scenes That Prove TV Has Gone Too Far

7. Tig’s Daughter’s Murder (Sons Of Anarchy)

True Blood Bill Lorena
FX

To get revenge on Tig, gangster Damon Pope captures Tig’s daughter Dawn. Pope pours gasoline over the weeping girl and chains Tig up, close enough to see what is about to transpire. Tig begs Pope to kill him instead, but in the end Pope throws his lit cigar into the gasoline and Dawn burns alive. Her final call to her father before she dies makes the scene even deeper.

A father watching his daughter burn is as unpleasant a scenario as they come. The lead-in, the stall, and the acting is all on point, and the scene is an emotional roller-coaster for anyone watching it.

I like to think of myself as a world traveler and social butterfly, although I do spend a lot of my time watching the latest Japanese anime series, sitcoms, movies, and drama series. I live on the island of Crete, where I was born, and enjoy walking on the beach with my little cocker spaniel, Molly, when I'm not writing for WhatCulture.com and UNILAD.co.uk.
