Lost is known for frequently killing off main characters. Usually, these characters don't stay off the show for long though because of the show's signature flashbacks and visions. In the last couple minutes of the pivotal Season 6 episode, "The Candidate", all hell broke loose as multiple main characters bit the dust in a span of minutes. To escape the Man in Black (in the form of Locke) and the island, Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Sayid, Jin, Sun and Lapidus got onto a submarine. Jack soon found out that Locke had planted a bomb in his backpack. Although the bomb probably wouldn't have gone off as the Man in Black couldn't directly kill any of the candidates, an impatient Sawyer turned a switch that triggered the actual bomb. After being in a zombified state, Sayid managed to perform one last heroic act by getting the bomb as far away as he could. The bomb went off and boom: Sayid, a main character since Season 1 was dead. This wasn't the end of the shocks though, as it was clear Sun wouldn't be getting out of the submarine alive. She had just reunited with Jin, who decided that he wouldn't leave her to drown all alone. The two stayed together until the very end when the submarine sank. In the span of a few minutes, 3 fan-favorites were killed off. You could call this the Red Wedding of Lost.
