10 Shows You Didn’t Realize Were By Seth MacFarlane
9. Blunt Talk
Now a show fading in our memories, Blunt Talk was produced by Seth MacFarlane, focusing on a fictional British newscaster named Walter Blunt played to perfection (well, at least the best anyone could have played it given the circumstances) by Family Guy and American Dad regular Sir Patrick Stewart.
Blunt became bored with his British broadcaster career and dreamed of one day dominating the American nightly news, a desire he soon acted upon by announcing his British channel departure and packing his bags for a new life. However, upon moving to the United States, the overly ambitious newscaster found himself constantly getting in his own way due to an overabundance of bad habits (alcohol, drugs, etc) and poor choices both on and off-screen.
The show only aired from 2015 to 2016 on the Starz network and was initially received as hilarious by its early fans. As the show proceeded onward, though, it quickly drew the ire of online critics, who often touted the “forced vulgarity” unraveled the occasional well-delivered wit of Stewart's character.
The show was canceled after only two seasons, although with a little retooling, it might have had a chance of making a comeback. Getting Stewart to reprise his role, on the other hand, might be a much more arduous effort, as the same critics proclaimed the show was an offensive waste of his award-winning acting chops.
