10 Similarities You Never Noticed In Family Guy And The Simpsons

7. The Living Rooms Are Weirdly Similar

Quick: what€™s in the Simpsons€™ living room? Now what€™s in the Griffin€™s living room? You thought of a sofa and a TV both times right? That€™s not a huge surprise, but the similarities don€™t end there. Both also have a music player (the Simpsons are predictably more retro with a record player), a couple of pictures on the wall, and very little else. In both shows, the other contents vary but these elements stay the same. In addition, both have doors to the outside, and open doorways which lead to the kitchen. A lot of American houses have pretty similar designs, but the lounges€™ similarities are more noticeable because their houses have otherwise very different layouts. Oddly, neither family seems to use their music player more than once a series, though they regularly sit in front of the TV episode after episode. Though that€™s probably less of an weird similarity and more of a rare attempt to capture some realism.
