10 Simple Fixes That Would Save The Walking Dead

6. Include Some Hope For Humanity

It seems so far that the average post-apocalyptic human is either selfish, stupid or psychopathic. It would be nice to find a group of humans who were a bit more, well, human. There are likely groups of humanitarians, nurses, doctors, military, even local government busy-bodies who would have been trying to create something. Techies, network engineers, hackers, professors, teachers - surely there would be more left of our once great civilisations than a cop, some crazies and a few random joes? Arriving at Terminus, there just seemed something off from the start, but cannibalism and treating humans like cattle was more than a little troubling. The sense of hopelessness towards the end of that story arc was palpable and the idea that humanity wasn€™t worth saving has started to take hold. What is needed is a group of people who aren€™t too good to be true. People who have been through just as much hardship, but who have come out with their empathy intact. This doesn€™t have to be a bunch of tree-huggers or even a fully fledged society, just people who aren€™t only out to kill you and steal your stuff.
