10 Characters From The Simpsons Who Were Total Rip-Offs

2. Professor Frink And The Nutty Professor... For Cyin' Out Glayvin!

Springfield's resident scientist Johnathon Frink- named after Simpsons' writer John Frink- was originally created as a "Mad-Scientist" type; voice actor Hank Azaria ad-libbed a parody of Jerry Lewis's The Nutty Professor character (not Eddie Murphy's) and from that day on, Professor John Frink was a parody of the famous character actor. Most of the random noises and nonsensical words spoken by Frink are ad-libbed by Azaria- just as they were by Jerry Lewis- and are written in scripts simply as "Frink noises." Jerry Lewis played Professor Frink's father in Season 15's "Treehouse of Horror XIV." The elder Frink is brought back to life after a shark attack, but goes on a body-part-stealing killing spree, taking brains, hair (Sideshow Mel's), spines (Principal Skinner's), and asses (Comic Book Guy's) in the process.

The 'House is a father of two and husband of one in Minnesota. He is an improv comedian, and in his spare time follows WWE, MLB, The Simpsons, and Bob's Burgers. Growing up he was a huge fan of He-Man, and refuses to believe that it was in fact terrible.
