8. There Was Originally Going To Be A Sequel To “Stark Raving Dad”

According to lore, there have been three episodes of the show that were written but not produced - and one of these was a sequel to Stark Raving Dad.

Tentatively titled “The Prince Episode”, the episode would see the return of Leon Kompowsky, but this time, he believes he is another iconic musician - Prince. Written by Conan O’Brien, the episode was meant to take place in the show's fifth season.

However, when Prince read the script, he hated it, and refused to do it. Producer and writer of the show Al Jean theorised that Prince did not want to “play second fiddle” to Michael Jackson, and didn’t like how the episode satirised his career. Also, as most of us know, Prince famously didn't like to make guest appearances in TV shows (except for New Girl, of course).

Prince did go on to appear on a Treehouse of Horror episode in Season 20, but he wasn't voiced by the man himself.
