5. Maggie Was Technically Voiced By Elizabeth Taylor

The Simpsons family are all voiced by well-renowned voice actors, including Dan Castellaneta (Homer), Julie Kavner (Marge), Nancy Cartwright (Bart) and Yeardley Smith (Lisa). However, with Maggie, the voicing is a little more complex.

As Maggie is resigned to mainly sucking pacifier noises, crying, and squealing, the character is voiced by many non-permanent voices, including Smith, Cartwright, and even Groening himself. In dream sequences or flash-forward episodes, she has been voiced by special guest stars, including Jodie Foster and James Earl Jones.

However, there was one time in which Maggie did actually speak, which was in the season 4 episode in which Maggie says her first word - “daddy”. And, in fact, this one word was actually voiced by the Hollywood legend that is Elizabeth Taylor.

Although she only had to say one word, apparently Taylor was very difficult to work with. They had to do the take over 20 times because her voice was considered “too sexual”, and at one point, she even walked out of the recording.
