10 Small Details You Only Notice Rewatching Doctor Who

7. SHUSH!

The Doctor has many wonderful abilities that help them take on the worst that the universe has to offer. Superior intellect, regeneration, an array of gadgets and gizmos. But did you know that they also have the power to stop people talking?

Matt Smith's Eleventh Doctor reveals this unusual power in Closing Time, where he's able to silence under-developed lifeforms like James Corden and a baby with a simple "Shush!".

The Thirteenth Doctor uses this ability once again in War of the Sontarans, but what you'll only notice on a rewatch is that the Doctor displays a similar power way earlier than either of those two episodes.

During a particularly tense exchange between the residents of a London street in Fear Her, the Tenth Doctor yells "Fingers on lips!" which causes a group of grown adults to stop and follow his orders like they're toddlers.

Ok fair enough, this clearly wasn't intended to be the shushing power at the time. But who says we can't apply a different meaning retroactively?
