10 Small Details You Only Notice Rewatching Supernatural

'The French Mistake', the 15th episode of the 6th season, Sam and Dean end up in an alternate reality where Supernatural is a TV show, and everyone thinks they are the actors Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. It's probably not surprising this episode is chock-full of Easter Eggs and nods to real life references about the actors and production.

Here are a few examples of the meta humor hiding in The French Mistake:

The bodyguard and driver, Clif Kosterman, is playing himself and is Jared and Jensen's actual bodyguard. In real life, Clif initially played the character of Tiny in season 2 before eventually being hired as the two actors' driver and bodyguard.

Similarly, the stunt doubles seen onset are Jensen and Jared's real stunt doubles. The exterior shot we see of Jensen's trailer, is really his trailer. Castiel actor Misha Collins' love of tweeting is poked fun at. An actual Supernatural magazine is shown in the episode, as well as a clip of Jensen Ackles playing Eric Brad from Days of Our Lives.

Genevieve Cortese, the actress who played Ruby and who is actually married to Jared Padalecki, played herself in this episode. One of the couple's real wedding photos was used onset.

There are also the pointed lines by Dean and Sam, in which Dean asks why anyone would want to watch a show about their lives. Sam responds that apparently, "not very many people do". A reference to the decreased ratings of Supernatural at the time.
