10 Sons Of Anarchy Cameos You Probably Missed
1. The Founder Of Hells Angels
It's abundantly clear that Sons of Anarchy is heavily inspired by the most famous motorcycle club, The Hells Angels. Not only did the club give Kurt Sutter their seal of approval, Hells Angels' most famous member, Sonny Barger, guest-starred in the show.
Sonny Barger is responsible for founding the Oakland, Californian section of Hells Angels in 1957. He's written five books about his group, which helped society gain a lot of insight, not just in Hells Angels, but motorcycle clubs in general.
In the show, Barger plays Lenny the Pimp; a convict who was imprisoned for killing three agents. In all his scenes, Lenny speaks while pressing into his throat, suggesting he has suffered a laryngectomy. If you thought this was a character choice, it wasn't. Due to a lifetime of heavy smoking, Barger developed throat cancer in the 1980s and had his vocal cords removed. Over time, he learned to speak by pressing into his oesophagus.
Although a lot of characters are killed off in the series, Lenny didn't get the chop. Considering his legacy helped create the series, it was courteous for Sutter to have the character see it to the end.
