The Enterprise-D’s chocolate loving counsellor went through quite a journey over the course of TNG’s run. Much like actress Marina Sirtis' quip that you can't have brains and cleavage in Hollywood, we marvelled as the catsuited counsellor who whimsically offered nothing in season one turned into the flesh out and fully uniformed commander of season seven.
TNG would not be Troi's only time on the Star Trek stage, however, as she returned as part of Project Pathfinder; Reginald Barclay and Starfleet's attempt to contact Voyager after its stranding in The Delta Quadrant. The plan would prove successful, and the pair would go on to join in with Voyager's misadventures repeatedly over the series run.
Many years later Troi and her husband Will Riker would retire to the planet Nepenthe with their two children, although not before a brief stint together on the USS Titan, as seen in Lower Decks. After the tragic death of their son Thad, the Riker-Trois would live in relative seclusion until the appearance of their old Captain, before playing a pivotal role in a galaxy spanning conflict in the Picard season one finale, which would redefine the bounds of intelligent life.
