10 Star Trek Episodes That Are Not As Good As People Say

1. Fury (Voyager)

Fury Voyager

Plot in Two Lines: Kes comes back to Voyager and boy is she narked off with everything. Some serious set munching and time travelling ensues before the Ocampan elf remembers the good times. Why Your Trek Friend Says It's Good: Well we didn't expect Kes to come back feeling like this did we? It was great to see the twist on one of the original Voyager cast in the prime universe rather than this being some mirror/alternate version of Kes. We get to go back in time and revisit the early days of the Voyager mission in the Delta Quadrant and have one of those rare reminiscent moments that takes you back to how it all began. Why It's Not Actually That Good: Aside from Old Kes looking like she's got a seriously bad Romulan Ale hangover, this is Voyager slipping into a bad habit even further. Time travel was a staple of the show from Day One (Time and Again, Eye of the Needle...) and even more importantly there are three stories close to the end of the show which deal with slipping back into earlier moments from the ship's history in Relativity, Shattered and this episode. Definitely a case of recycling plots and don't be concerned that the timeline is screwed, there's sure to be a nice Voyager Reset Button in there somewhere

A Star Trek fan from birth, I love to dive into every aspect of the franchise in front and behind the screen. There's something here that's kept me interested for the best part of four decades! Now I'm getting back into writing and using Star Trek as my first line of literary attack. If I'm not here on WhatCulture then you're more than welcome to come and take a look at my blog, Some Kind of Star Trek at http://SKoST.co.uk or maybe follow me on Twitter as @TheWarpCore. Sometimes I force myself not to talk about Star Trek.
