10 Star Trek Episodes That PISSED People Off
7. Second Contact
Star Trek Lower Decks has now hit the airwaves and is midway through the first season. The series opener, Second Contact, was the franchise's first half-hour season premiere since Beyond The Furthest Star, and it hit the ground running.
It has proved to be marmite - some people love it, and some people hate it. Some of the loudest complaints state that the crew on board the USS Cerritos are simply not Starfleet and, by virtue of the show being a Star Trek show, this fact is unforgiveable.
Reasons cited include Mariner's drinking on the job (and slicing of Boimler's leg), the amount of censored swearing and the date that Rutherford shares with Barnes, despite the zombie outbreak around them.
It is certainly not everyone's cup of tea - but it announced what it was from the beginning, and tonally has remained on point ever since.
