Going into Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's final season, Ira Stephen Behr wanted to prove to the audience that war has consequences. Not content with robbing poor Nog of a leg, he opted to go for another death. There is barely time to reflect as the escape pods flee before several last torpedos send the Defiant back to meet its maker. Nothing short of stunning.
Poor Captain Sisko.
