10 Star Trek Villains Who Actually Won

8. V'Ger - Star Trek: The Motion Picture

V'Ger Star Trek—The Motion Picture
CBS/Paramount

The first Star Trek adventure on the big screen is often unfairly maligned as a dull affair, when its worst crime is that it is a very big budget episode of the Original Series. While there is a solid argument that it is a remake of the episode The Changeling, when it comes to the sheer majesty of V'Ger, we say remake away!

V'Ger is cold, but certainly attains exactly what it was looking for (in a way). However, the coldness is also devoid of emotion, allowing V'Ger to plow through whatever stands in its way. The Klingon Battlecruisers, along with Space Station Epsilon IX are disintigrated in its path, along with Lt. Ilia on the bridge of the Enterprise itself.

V'Ger's task is to report back to its maker and, in effect, that is exactly what it does. Then, V'Ger bonds with Decker, allowing the pair of them to evolve into a new and higher form of life. All of this happens as Starfleet and Admiral Kirk stand by, unable to do a thing to effect the outcome.

The Motion Picture is easily the most beautiful of the films, and its villain is among their most deadly.
