10 Star Wars Shows That NEED To Happen
6. Rebel Academy
War TV shows have been some of the best ever, and one only has to think of Band of Brothers or The Pacific to get a sense of the quality that can come out of stories set in the heat of combat. With this in mind, it is very easy to imagine a similar style of show set in the Star Wars universe.
More specifically, it would be great to follow the story of a small band of rebels right in the middle of the fight against the Empire, and get to know a small group of fighters thrust together to work as a unit. Imagine the movie Fury...but in space!
Think of it. A young rebel, a recent graduate of the rebel academy and keen to start fighting, is placed in a squad with a diverse group of fighters who initially don't get along. Through trials and tribulations, they get closer, find their similarities, and defeat whatever specific area of the Empire they are ordered to, uniting under the rebel cause that brought them together in the first place!
Set in the heat of Empire's reign, this kind of show could make the Rebels more relevant in the 21st Century, and introduce a whole new generation of Star Wars fans to the original fighters for good.
The show could follow the group and explores team dynamics of difference, experience, fear, and ultimately friendship along their way to fighting the oppressive Empire, and serve as an action-packed emotional roller coaster for lovers, both young and old, of the Rebel Alliance.
