Most of you probably know Alyson Hannigan from from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Most of this generation, however, will probably recognize her from current sitcom How I Met Your Mother. The raunchier of readers still may be more familiar with her as Michelle from American Pie - the girl who stuck a flute in her hoohah. Wherever you best recall her visage from you will still be surprised to realize she had a small role in her earlier years as one of Becky's middle school friends on Roseanne. In season three, episode four titled Like a New Job, Roseanne takes a job working at a diner in the mall much to Becky's dismay as the mall is a significant hangout for her and her friends. One of those friends is Jan whom at first glance is not quite recognizable as everyone's favorite redheaded witch. Donning dark hair and a fifteen year-old face, Alyson Hannigan stepped into one of her very first roles as an actress. Only when she speaks telling Becky to calm down and ensuring her she finds her mother 'cool' do we for certain realize who the young actress is. Oddly enough, during this time Hannigan was the actual age of her later character Willow upon her first appearance. Of course, television often fools us into believing high schoolers to look much older than they actually are.
