10 Stars Who Turned Down The Simpsons

9. Bob Dylan

Rock and folk singer Bob Dylan was also originally intended to feature in 'Homerpalooza', but declined and was replaced by Peter Frampton. Dylan, whose best-known songs include "Blowin' in the Wind" and "The Times They Are a-Changin'", can boast the unique fact that he has twice been approached by the show's writers to make a guest appearance. Usually, a celebrity who declines the opportunity to appear on The Simpsons is not asked again, while there are even cases of stars who once snubbed the show and later asking for a guest role being declined by the writers, as happened with US politician Al Gore. But such is Dylan's appeal, he was asked again, this time to play the role of Homer's spirit guide in 'El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Jomer (The Mysterious Voyage of Homer)', in season 8 the following year. Unfortunately for Dylan, the role instead went to fellow musician Jonny Cash, who played the mysterious talking space coyote who helped Homer realise Marge was his true soulmate in one of The Simpson's weirdest episodes.
