Written exclusively for Kindle, with a subject matter revolving around the device itself, Ur is an experiment from King that works. The story is solid protagonist Wesley Smith is mistakenly sent a Kindle that can access literature and articles from parallel dimensions with the author on familiar grounds when writing about sinister apparatus (this is the man that made a car scary, mind). But importantly, Smiths adventures into the unknown, playing with past and future, has so much potential as a TV show and carries themes that could span seasons, even becoming a sort of 21st century Quantum Leap, complete with those dastardly Low Men in Yellow Coats on bad guy duties. No sign of this Kindle's green backlight being switched on as of yet.
