10 Stephen King Stories That Need To Become TV Shows

10. The Reach

The Reach is easily the most beautiful story that King has ever crafted. While on the outset there may not be much mileage to turn this into a TV show - his eighties short centres on an elderly Maine island resident, who takes a perilous journey to meet the ghosts of her past - the story's titular locale is a prime setting for a show. King's light, wispy prose paints a picture of an old worldy fishing settlement, untouched by the passing of time and seasons, but filled with interesting characters all with proud histories. The island itself was based on a real life locale, so even without any sign of the green light bursting through the fog, the setting is there, ready and waiting.
