10 Stephen King Stories That Need To Become TV Shows

4. It

Aside from Tim Curry€™s fiendish performance, the late John Ritter being awesome and, overall, those halcyon memories of going to bed terrified after watching Sky€™s two part miniseries, Stephen King€™s best novel hasn€™t been given a proper run out on the small screen. Despite a strong first part, the nineties series hasn€™t worn well with time. While painful to read, especially seeing as the show has a faithful following, this is in fact great news, as it means the complex and creepy tale of an ancient evil €“ manifested in the form of Pennywise The Dancing Clown €“ plaguing a Maine town can be given a more thorough, faithful and lengthier run out on TV. As it stands, a remake helmed by Cary Fukunaga recently fell through, which is possibly a blessing in disguise seeing as the True Detective showrunner had a vision of switching the story to the eighties and noughties, as opposed to the source novel€™s fifties and eighties setting. With a definitive date yet to be set for It to air, the show continues to lurk in the shadows.
