10 Stephen King Stories That Need To Become TV Shows
5. The Bill Hodges Trilogy
Already regarded as some of King's best work in years, this soon-to-be concluded trilogy - comprised of Mr Mercedes, FInders Keepers and this year's End Of Watch - has been hardboiled on the page for too long and is begging to be unwrapped as a small screen yarn. Focusing on world weary ex cop, Bill Hodges, the first two books have seen this protagonist go bumper to bumper with his very own Moriarty in Brady Hartsfield and also crack the case of a murdered artist. Both written by a King in full on thriller author mode. At the moment, there's no sign of this airing on any network, but back in January 2015 Mr Mercedes was poised to enter production with Jack Bender in the frame as showrunner. Following Bender's misfortunes in keeping Under The Dome alive on screens, though, the project seems to have been shelved. With hope, somebody will see the appeal in giving these three tales the Red Ridings treatment.
