10 Super Disappointing Netflix Original Series

8. The Ranch

Iron Fist 13 Reasons Why
Netflix

The Ranch is a Netflix sitcom that is filmed live in front of a studio audience in Burbank, California. That sentence alone is enough to explain why it makes this list.

If we wanted to watch formulaic sitcoms, we would all still be paying for a cable subscription. Yes, it's cool that we get a little mini-reunion of That 70s Show with Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson, but is that enough to sustain this show?

Well, it's gotten two seasons so far, so maybe. But it's still sad to see Netflix go down this path, when they've always been known for their boldness, funding the kind of shows that wouldn't get a chance on network television.

This is a reversion to the same old tedious nonsense that we've been watching for the past twenty years, one that appeals to the lowest common denominator of television viewer and is creatively bankrupt. Simply put, it takes no risks and wins no hearts.
