10 Super Disappointing Netflix Original Series

7. Fuller House

"Whatever happened to predictability?" Nothing. Nothing happened to predictability. It's still right there where you left it.

There is a world in which Fuller House could have been decent. It would have involved recognizing the changing sensibilities of television audiences and taking risks, but it could have been done.

Instead, Fuller House went into this whole reboot thing knowing that all it needed to do to get viewers was exist, and was happy to coast along the bottom, taking no chances and spitting out a carbon copy of the original show.

The end result is a television program that is both soulless and unimaginative, taking every old catchphrase and cute memory of the show and frog-marching them into the new one.

A typical episode involves a grown adult repeating a once beloved catchphrase that they said ad naseum as a child, waiting for applause and laughter, then carrying on with the scene.

It's charmless, and Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen were wise to steer clear of it. And not to be rude to its cast members, but the show is proof that just because someone had a modicum of screen presence as a child and teenager does not mean that they can act as adults.
