10 Super Disappointing Netflix Original Series

5. Chasing Cameron

Iron Fist 13 Reasons Why
Netflix

Much like Haters Back Off, Chasing Cameron revolves around a YouTube personality (why is Netflix obsessed with these people and can they please stop?). But in this case, it's a reality show about the rise to fame (debatable) of one Cameron Dallas, who became an overnight sensation through his success with the dearly departed Vine social media outlet.

The main problem here is...what is this show's audience? How does one craft a show about a so-called celebrity who has little name recognition and expect people to actually care about it?

And not to paint with too broad a brush, but whenever a network or streaming platform takes a step away from doing what they do best (bold, creative original programming, in this case) in favor of the lure of cheap, easy reality television, it never bodes well. Be better than that, Netflix. Don't make the same mistakes as MTV and VH1.
