10 Superheroes Who Would Work Better On Television
2. Union Jack
We all know about Captain America and his cool vibranium shield, but a lesser-known patriotic character who is just as entertaining is Union Jack, a British spy who donned a mask to fight the battle against evil. This is a name shared by three different characters, but the one who originated it is James Falsworth. He was a veteran of World War I and II and served alongside numerous other Marvel superheroes for many years before losing the ability to use his legs and passing on the name to his son. Creating a series based off Union Jack would work best as a period piece during WWII, but his character could easily be adapted for the current age with all the conflict going on in the world. He possesses no powers of any kind, but like many other heroes, he is at the peak of physical and mental strength and has a wide variety of combat-related skills to help him fight the bad guys. Technically, we saw James Falsworth in the first Captain America film with Chris Evans, but he was not going by the Union Jack name, so the character can still be brought in elsewhere. With Agent Carter taking place during the right time, we very well may see Union Jack help S.H.I.E.L.D. get off the ground. If he does appear alongside Peggy Carter, it could serve as a launching pad for his own show if the character proves popular with audiences.
