4. Girl Friday - Mad Men
Starring: Elisabeth Moss, Zachary Knighton, Michael Gladis, Katherine Webb and David Oyelowo After she leaves SCDP, Peggy Olson (Elisabeth Moss) moves out to Los Angeles to be the creative director for Haviland and Archer, an upstart Ad agency. The agency's a little more progressive than SCDP. They have a woman (Katherine Webb) and black man (David Oyelowo) on their copy team. There are many who still aren't ready to be working for a woman. But more than that, Peggy encounters an east coast bias, the California lifestyle, and jealousy from secretaries in the office. She starts a flirtatious relationship with an airline pilot (Zachary Knighton). A man who literally has his head in the clouds and can't stay in one place. Things become more complicated when she runs into her old friend Paul (Michael Gladis), still trying to break into Hollywood. Without the familiarity of New York and her friends and family, she truly is a fish out of water. Trying to cope with the stress of a high pressure job, sexism, and the changing landscape of America in the 1960s, Peggy looks for a way to make all her dreams a reality.
