9. The King Of Queens
The King of Queens is one of my favourite TV shows. Not only am I massive Kevin James mark, but I think one of the reasons this show stands out is because of the authenticity of the main couple. Kevin James and Leah Remini play Doug and Carrie, a married couple getting into awkward and hilarious situations, often, but not always, resolving themselves by the episodes conclusion. One of the funniest things about this series is the manner in which James and Remini bounce off of each other. Throw in Jerry Stiller's Arthur and you're in for a treat. However, in the pilot, James and Remini are painted out to be the happy couple who never argue or fight, which if you continue watching past the pilot, couldnt be further from the truth. As Remini settles into her role as the explosive and fiery Carrie, the show really gets going. Its something the pilot fails to exploit, which in turn doesnt make the show stand out at all. Thus, when compared to the rest of the series, the pilot feels empty and lacking in the certain comedic spark that makes this show great.
