Walter White is the best character in one of the best shows of all time, and has a damn strong claim to the title of greatest TV character ever. In the role of Breaking Bad's villainous protagonist, Bryan Cranston's character underwent an arc unlike any other.

Initially a mild-mannered, underpaid, and spineless doormat, Walt's cancer diagnosis opened the door to the world of selling drugs and building his own empire. Along the way he transformed into a cold-blooded killer more dangerous than any of the other bad guys the show could boast.

Walt's journey was scary, as he spiralled from a loving father down to a crime lord, but there is a tiny detail that makes it even scarier. It's part of how he made the transition over the years. Essentially, every time he killed an enemy - someone perceived to be dangerous, to be a threat to him - he took on a part of their personality.

After murdering Krazy-8 (Maximino Arciniega Jr.), Walt began to cut the crusts off his sandwiches as his first victim did. After killing Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito), he carried himself more like the unmistakable gangster, and when he murdered Mike (Jonathan Banks), he started using phrases his former partner used to say, and taking ice in his drinks.

It's like Walt saw this as levelling up in some way, and having such a cold outlook on his victims, and how he could benefit from their deaths is truly a terrifying aspect of his character's journey that may have been missed.
