If there's anything missing from DC's newest Animated Original Movies, it's DC Showcase. In its few brief appearances, Showcase highlighted a number of DC's characters in their own 15-20 minute short film - ranging from the likes of Jonah Hex and Green Arrow, to Catwoman and even The Spectre. Each short simply oozes with creativity, and actually had the effect of sometimes overshadowing the animated movies they accompanied too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVRiADlDEig These shorts also packed a star-studded cast as well, with the aforementioned Jonah Hex tale featuring the voices of Thomas Jane and Linda Hamilton. Irrespective of the star power included each short was beautifully acted, demonstrating that a lengthy running time isn't necessary to create a high quality story based around the escapades and misadventures of DC's finest. Showcase was a great bonus for those who purchased the physical copies of DC's films - it's just a shame there aren't more of them to fawn over.
