As much as Doctor Who fans can speculate (and boy can they speculate), the truth of the matter is that no one really knows what the future holds for Doctor Who - and doesn't that just make the whole thing all the more exciting!? Steven Moffat does, of course, but he rightfully keeps his cards close to his chest. Storytelling is all about the adventure, after all, and it ruins it for everyone if it's ruined before it gets here. There will be a new series later this year but who knows what other shocks and surprises will transpire long the way? Even a trip in the TARDIS to the future would have to be turned down for fear it would give all the Series 9 secrets away. The thrill is in the chase and the journey is just far too exciting to miss.
