10 Things Doctor Who Wants You To Forget

9. Amy Makes A Move

The Eleventh Doctor made a huge impression on young Amelia Pond, so it's not really surprising that she grew up obsessing over him.

After a few episodes of tension, Rory's bride-to-be makes her move on the Raggedy Man at the end of Flesh and Stone. She plants a kiss on her former imaginary friend, which is a sentence straight out of a therapist's notebook.

Though the idea of Amy being in love with the Doctor made for a bit of fun during Series 5's early days, this kissing scene quickly made things super awkward. Their relationship is so friendly by the time their run together ends, that it's extremely uncomfortable to go back and watch this moment today.

Plus, a large part of Amy's development in later episodes is her undying love for Rory, which gets a bit harder to accept once you remember that she made out with a floppy-haired alien the night before her wedding.

Even writer Steven Moffat regrets the kissing scene, saying "I played it for laughs and it's so wrong."
