10 Things Every MCU Fan Needs To Know About Moon Knight

8. Powers Are Not Permanent

Vengeance of the Moon Knight
Marvel Comics

The tricky thing about getting your powers from an unknowable ancient Egyptian god is that ancient unknowable gods are not the most loyal sort, and will drop you like a prom dress on a whim because, well, what the hell are YOU gonna do about it?

Such is the unfortunate case with Moon Knight. The guy has lost his powers for any number of reasons. At one point he just kinda lost them over time, and had to rely on his own abilities and skills in order to fight crime.

In the critically lauded Warren Ellis run, he lost his powers because Khonshu just straight up abandoned him in favor of someone else and he had to spend the latter half of that run winning back the god's favor.

While Moon Knight is more than skilled enough to fight his way back to the top whenever life tries to put him at the bottom of the food chain, we imagine he would prefer a bit more job security. But then, that's what you get for throwing in your lot with an ancient unknowable god.
