6. Sansa's Rape

As if HBO hadn't learned their lesson from Cersei's ordeal, they let another rape scene find its way into the show. And this one was truly, utterly horrendous to watch as Ramsay Bolton and Sansa Stark's wedding night unfolded. Now, Thrones is a show that prides itself on shock-value. Its biggest moments have all been eye-opening, startling events, and the boldness to defy TV conventions are part of the reason it is so great. In the brutal world of Thrones, bad things are going to happen, and the gritty realism of the show means that some of these incidents must be shown if they serve a purpose. However, this scene didn't. We already understood that Ramsay was a pretty bleak guy (understatement of the year) and it caused another headache for HBO.
