10 Things You Need To Know About The Constantine Reboot
5. Meet Liv
True Blood's Lucy Griffiths will play Liv Parsons, a brand new character who doesn't feature in the comics (though Goyer has said she will be a composite of existing characters) who is marked for death by a powerful demon. She works at a rental car firm, and finds herself in Constantine's world when she discovers her fate, and calls in a debt that he owed to her father Jasper, who he knew. Presumably it is this debt that draws Constantine out of Ravenscar Psychiatric Hospital and back into the real world after his break-down, and you have to suspect that there will be a link between this demon and the one that dragged the pilot's version of Astra to Hell. Liv will likely stick around for the whole series, if the show does get optioned, though you wouldn't ever fancy any of Constantine's associates' chances of survival for too long given the fact that the comic book has a gleeful blood thirst that makes Robert Kirkman look like Mary Poppins. If anyone gets close to him - and they do, because he's famed for his ability to make friends and allies - they usually end up either suffering horribly or being killed.
