Sons Of Anarchy seems to exist in its own little world, where motorcycles are the principal form of transportation for anyone who's anyone, and the police and FBI are primarily occupied with making sure that biker gangs are kept in check above all other forms of law-breaking activities that should come up in their day-to-day operations. SAMCRO themselves mainly stick around in their ironically named hometown of Charming, California, but they've welcome visitors from all around the country - and even some from across the sea - and often are called upon to attend to business outside of their territory. Again, that's not a far cry from the way that outlaw gangs work in reality. There are actually a heck of a lot of these motorcycle clubs across the US - we don't have an official number because, well, they're not official groups in the eyes of the AMA - but rest assured, there's a fair few. And a lot of them work in the same way as SAMCRO, with one main group and then local chapters spread across the country, expanding the business and philosophy nationwide. The mother chapter usually stays in their town of origin, but you can find them all over the US. Which is also how tussles over territory get started, but all in good time...
