3. The Radio Signal Gets Received And Explained
While driving towards the university in Isolation (S4 E03), Daryl receives a brief radio transmission before crashing into a college party or a herd of walkers on the campus; same thing. Unfortunately, they had no opportunity to pursue the origin of the transmission. Funny enough, there were really no diplomats in the car at the time anyway. Daryl and Michonne are too blunt to make friends. Tyreese is huffing and puffing, losing his mind in the back seat. And Bob might only ask them what they have on tap. Regardless, we know there are others out there, trying to make contact. I just hope they reach Rick or Hershel first. We still havent seen Daryl bring this information to Rick, and it may be overshadowed by the information Ricks brought for Daryl. Coupled with the imminent approach of the Governor, I think this piece is going to be thrown on the back burner for now. The transmission is exciting, but their voices are drowned by more pressing matters. Thats just what Id expect from a television show, always pushing radio off to the side. Once the radio transmission is finally dealt with, my prediction is firmly grounded in the graphic novels. After leaving the prison in the graphic novels, the group soon meets up with Abraham, Eugene, and Rosita. Eugene, a man who claims to be a scientist, carries a radio which he listens to in hopes for contact from Washington. Of course, in the graphic novels, Rick soon discovers that the radio doesnt even have batteries. Obviously, the radio would have to be working in the television series, and this could be an interesting diverging point for the show. The show has its differences, and we can hear them, loud and clear.
