4. Daryl Finds Carol
Theres no way Carol is gone for good; we know Daryl is going to go after her. This was a critical oversight in Ricks decision to get rid of Carol. He intends to explain himself to Daryl, but he really doesnt have anything to offer. Daryl is vital to the group, not the other way around. Carol was Daryls rock in the group; theyve become very close following the loss of Sophia. And if Daryls gone looking for other peoples rocks, then surely hes going to search for his own. I find this expectation most compelling because it makes the group much more fallible for a period of time. Lets be honest, Daryls the invincible guardian; he shoots down walkers like theyre over-sized squirrels. However, consider the one episode Daryls been absent from the prison thus far. Guts started hitting the fan maybe because Hershel was tackling a walker on the second floor, but the suspense was certainly flying high. The pressure and intensity of survival rises when Daryls not there to save the day. If Daryl leaves the prison, even momentarily, then this could stand in as the loss of Ricks right hand. This method requires less green screen, at least. The prison may be fortified with fences, towers, and iron bars, but Daryl remains its biggest defence. If he goes after Carol, then it may be enough to weaken Rick and the prison for an exciting assault from the Governor.
