5. Garrett Wang And Robert Duncan McNeil Are The Longest Serving Cast Members
Garrett Wang and Robert Duncan McNeil have recently started a podcast where they are working their way through each of the episodes of Voyager, from start to finish, and relating their memories from the set.
Well that they might, because they were the longest serving cast members on the show. They were the first to have scenes on set, as they both appeared with Genevieve Bujold, the original Captain Janeway.
She was cast from the beginning and had already started to film with the two other actors when she abruptly quit. That meant that, not only did the production crew have to start from scratch on these scenes, but both Wang and McNeil had to go back and rerecord these scenes with Mulgrew when she was brought on board.
Both have very fond memories of the show though, as evidenced by their rewatch and telling of set stories. The podcast is well worth a listen to any fans of the show, particularly to highlight some of the more mundane goings on on set!
They would know - they were there for each incarnation!
