10 Things We Need To See In Doom Patrol Season 2

8. Rita's Powers

Doom Patrol
DC Comics

One thing the show left out almost entirely is a display of Rita's powers. In the comics, Rita Farr, AKA Elasti-Girl can grow, shrink, and regenerate any part of her body, meaning she can become microscopic, or gigantic, and stretch, the way Plastic Man does, and she can't be permanently damaged. In the show, she mostly did nothing but talk throughout the first season.

In one Silver Age comic, Rita shrank to subatomic stature and was briefly held hostage by microscopic humanoid creatures living on one of the atoms of Robotman's hand, and in Milk Wars, she expanded to the size of the entire universe, and may have been key to recreating the multiverse (stating that she was "in everything") when it was destroyed, though what exactly she did is not explicitly clear.

Elasti-Girl is arguably one of the most overpowered characters in comics when you consider all the ways her powers have been portrayed, but the only time she used them at all in live action was to stretch her arm in one scene.

Rita is already a great character on the show, but hopefully in season two, she'll be a more formidable superhero.

Michael Cross hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
