10 Things We Need To See In House Of The Dragon Season 2
8. Daeron Targaryen
Viewers getting their first taste of Fire and Blood through HBO's on-screen depiction could be forgiven for being totally oblivious to the fact that Alicent Hightower has another son, who has yet to be introduced in the show.
Daeron Targaryen is the youngest child born to the Queen by Viserys; a brave warrior and rider of the dragon Tessarion, known as the Blue Queen. Contrastingly to his sinister older brothers and his wacky sister, Daeron is described as the kindest and gentlest of the Targaryen children, going on to play a significant role in the conflict as the Dance of the Dragons plays out.
Fans of Fire and Blood initially panicked when Daeron had still failed to make an appearance in the finale, leading them to believe that the show runners may have made the painful decision to cut a rich character from proceedings. However, Ryan Condal and George RR Martin have both separately confirmed that the show simply didn't have enough time to fit Daeron's character into the storyline this time around and that the Targaryen Prince will feature in the upcoming season.
Alicent's youngest son is currently serving as House Tyrell's ward at Highgarden but his upcoming appearance gives House of the Dragon's casting department another chance to flex their already prestigious muscles, with a compelling new character providing a breath of fresh air to proceedings to work with. There's a reason he was known as Daeron the Daring.
