10 Things We Need To See In House Of The Dragon Season 2
7. The dragons yet to make an appearance
As alluded to by Daemon in the season finale, there are scores of dragons yet to be properly introduced to audiences.
The fascinating aspect about this status quo on the show is that many of these dragons belong to main cast members. For context, as the Dance of the Dragons kicks off, the Greens possess three dragons, yet Aegon's Sunfyre and Helaena's Dreamfyre have only featured in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it manner as the show has focused mainly on Aemond's titanic mount, Vhagar. On the Green's side, Baela's Moondancer and young Joffrey's Tyraxes have yet to make an appearance whatsoever.
This groaning catalogue of names, shapes and sizes provides House of the Dragon's second season with an enormous blank slate to explore the unexplored aspects of the main cast's fire breathing steeds, one that must be put to good use. Some of the show's finest scenes to date have been dragon-centric, with Aemond's claiming of Vhagar serving as particular highlight, so it is of paramount importance that the show continues to build on this thrilling premise in the next season.
The riderless dragons yet to be introduced present what is arguably an even more enthralling prospect. Vermithor made his majestic on-screen bow in the season finale while Laenor was seen riding Seasmoke before his retreat into exile, but Sheepstealer and Silverwing remain an unseen commodity. There are so many dragons in the mix next season that it is entirely possible that the Cannibal and Grey Ghost fail to feature at all.
