10 Things We Need To See In House Of The Dragon Season 2
4. HBO's famed battle episodes
House of the Dragon's first season served as somewhat of a scene-setter. The show laid out a political landscape spanning decades, with the flawlessly executed time jumps lending a genuine air of authenticity to the origins of the civil war.
The fact that a Game of Thrones signature battle-centric episode, àla Battle of the Bastards or Blackwater, did not feature is somewhat forgivable as a result, particularly when one considers that the aforementioned original's debut season followed exactly the same blueprint. Thankfully, fans aren't too torn up about this turn of events, salivating instead at the prospect of the battles to come as a result. As well they should be! Fire and Blood features some unbelievably bloody, thrilling battlefield clashes on a colossal scale, with the additional blockbuster element of dragons on either side of the conflict.
Juxtaposed against Game of Thrones' fantasy centric elements, Fire and Blood's politically focused storyline means considerably more battles to contend with. Based on the snippets of actions and the stunning CGI featured in House of the Dragon's first season - the conflict in the Stepstones and the depiction of the dragons in particular providing a thrilling peak into the capabilities of the crew tasked with bringing the show's spectacular battle sequences to life - the battles poised to feature in the second season of House of the Dragon appear set to dazzle once again.
There's an awful lot of carnage to cram in. One can only hope that HBO do Fire and Blood the justice it deserves.
