10 Things You Learn Rewatching Futurama

9. The Comedy Central Seasons Are Worth Watching

While the original run was undoubtedly Futurama at its best, the revival seasons on Comedy Central are still definitely worth binging.

TV shows often get a bit of black and white criticism, with everything either brilliant or terrible. Because of that, the later series get a bit of stick for failing to live up to the standards of the originals. There’s certainly more low cards in their deck, but some fantastic episodes you won’t want to miss as well.

Hermes and Amy get more recognition, with Amy’s status as a grad student finally acknowledged, but that’s just for starters. Lethal Inspection and That Darn Katz is probably where these two shine respectively.

The Prisoner Of Benda, Murder On The Planet Express, The Late Phillip J. Fry and Stench & Stenchability are ones not to be missed either. It goes without saying that you need to watch finale Meanwhile too.

Probably the biggest change was that Futurama switched from a timeless quality to more referential humour. Arguably it was only following the trend of Family Guy and South Park, but being set 1000 years in the future gave them a fresh perspective. Parodying Proposition Eight with Proposition Infinity was just one of many topical riffs.
