10 Things You Learn Rewatching Star Wars Rebels
6. Lars Mikkelsen Is The Perfect Thrawn
The voice cast for Star Wars Rebels is stellar. All six main cast members - including David Oyelowo as Kallus - carve out distinct voices for their characters; Dee Bradley Baker, Ashley Eckstien, and Sam Witwer all return to their Clone Wars roles of Rex, Ahsoka, and Maul nicely, and Jason Isaacs makes for a horrifying Grand Inquisitor in the show's first season.
However, the most perfect voice to character match in the whole show has to be Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn. The actor, of Sherlock and House of Cards fame, plays the villain with a soft yet intimidating voice. Every word he says chills to the bone.
Should Thrawn ever appear in a live action Star Wars property, Mikkelsen is as good a choice as any to reprise the role. Most of his work is as a physical actor, and his younger brother Mads already performed as Galen Erso in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Everything about Thrawn's voice is perfect, and Lars Mikkelsen has the physicality to pull it off again.
