10 Things You Need To Know About The Batman TV Show That Didn’t Happen
9. The Supporting Characters
While the title of the show being Bruce Wayne suggests that this not-to-be series would have focused on the young Caped Crusader-in-waiting, plentiful familiar faces from the world of DC Comics would have been present alongside Bruce.
In addition to having Alfred Pennyworth serving as Wayne's butler and father figure, Bruce Wayne would have also featured a who's who of Batman's supporting players.
Harvey Dent would have been introduced as the best friend of Bruce, and likewise Harvey's sister Susan would have been involved in the series. Then there's Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock being involved in the action from a GCPD perspective, which nicely leads to just which villains would have been featured in Bruce Wayne.
On the rogues front, mob bosses Carmine Falcone and Rupert Thorne would have been at the centre of proceedings, but various big-name Bat-foes would have been introduced as the show progressed. Seemingly, there were plans for Oswald Cobblepot to rise to power, Edward Nygma to act as a deceptive con man, Jonathan Crane to be featured as a crazed psychology professor, Selina Kyle to be playing all sides against each other, and a place for a struggling comedian called Jack Napier. And that's without considering Harvey Dent eventually taking on the role of Two-Face.
There were even plans to have Clark Kent make an appearance in Gotham City, in a move which would have laid the foundations for the Batman and Superman dynamic that so many comic book fans love.
