Trevor Noah is a very funny man. And sharp. And clever. And that's all the more impressive when you consider that he's not actually been in the stand up game for all that long. Jon Stewart became the host of The Daily Show in 1999, having begun his career in comedy at New York open mics almost fifteen years before. He had put the hours in and honed his craft. By comparison, Noah only really got going at the comedy thing properly in 2007. He performed with South African comedians such as Riaad Moosa, Darren Simpson, Marc Lottering, Barry Hilton and Nik Rabinowitz, and toured as the opening act for Gabriel Iglesias and Canadian comedian Russell Peters. He's worked hard, that's for sure. But he's so good at what he does and so self-assured that he's managed to achieve what takes most comedians twenty years, instead of the just scraping ten years it's taken for him to, well, become host of The Daily Show. Which, on the basis of You Laugh But It's True, some of his peers are a little jealous of. Bully for them.
