9. 1991 - The Mayan Invasion
The Sons had been the unofficial, outlaw protectors of Charming for 24 years with very little trouble until the Mayans a gang from Oakland led by President Marcus Alvarez wanted to expand their heroin and prostitution empire into the San Joaquin Valley. This led to a heated, bloody war with SAMCRO who were determined to keep Charming under their control. The war ran for two years, and only ended after the Mayans were convinced to back down after suffering heavy casualties. 15 years after the war two DWP employees discovered three bodies on the Charming/Lodi boarder; two Mayan foot soldiers and the body of Lowell Harland Sr a friend and employee of the club who Clay killed for being a 'junkie rat.'
