10 Things You Should Probably Hate About Doctor Who
7. The Persistant Adversaries
Because the Daleks aren't the only formidable foes in the universe, you know. Yes, they're undeniably the show's most menacing adversary (and, having been introduced in December 1963, they're almost just as old as it, too), but they kind of... almost... completely become that little bit less terrifying each and every time they're dusted off and wheeled out of the shadows for their latest failed attempt at universal domination. To throw some statistics at you, there have been a grand total of 813 episodes of Doctor Who to date, 989 of which have featured the Daleks. That's more Dalek episodes than actual Doctor Who episodes, for God's sake. Nobody even knows for sure how it happened, but it's just further proof that those persistent pepperpots have become tragically overused. And it's not just the (now less than) dreaded Daleks, either. The Cybermen are another prime example of a once reputable race who just don't know when to quit. They last stomped their way back onto our screens in last year's finale but the role of Missy's corpse capitulated army could've been filled by just about any villain at all. Maybe even a brand new one, but that ship has well and truly sailed. Hell, giving them 'super speed' didn't help either, and if their infamous cries of "Delete!" are heard one more time in Series 9, the Doctor won't have to come up with another heroic plan to save the world because fans will be climbing into their TV sets to blow it up themselves. "Exterminate" indeed.
